First edition (American issue). Craddock, one of the most famous barmen of his era, plied his trade at the Savoy Hotel’s American Bar, and later at the Dorchester and at Brown’s. This attractive publication features colour illustrations throughout by Gilbert Rumbold. Also published in the UK the same year by Constable & Company; a second (expanded) edition also appeared in 1930. A very good plus copy in the publisher’s Deco-style binding (light rubbing to the boards, small areas of faint damp-staining on the endpapers). Provenance: G. David Pearlman, Washington D.C.
