A presentation copy with a lengthy inscription from King (‘To Joe Wolberg, hoping you will forget my insane self […] Hope you don’t sink on that boat. Linda 1/10/75’). King was Bukowski’s on and off girlfriend until 1975 (she is the basis of Lydia Vance in his Women). Wolberg wrote a long profile of Bukowski, published in Oui magazine in 1981. First published in 1972, this copy is from the second edition.
